Life is too SHORT to settle for GOOD enough...Only those who PLAY WIN BIG !

I read an interesting article this morning by J.T O’Donnell, and felt so aligned to her experience and her tips.

I thought these are very important life skills that anyone would need, and these tips should not be a best kept secret since she has already shared so generously.

For your convenience, I have provided the key takeaways abridged with my personal tips as well here for you to make a dog ear on.

Here are the 6 tips to double your salary without getting burnt out.
You'll have a chance to make up for the income you may have lost in the last five years. However, don't lose yourself in the process! Be mindful and strategic with each career move.

1) Figure which of your skills is the biggest pain killer to an employers pain. The more you can show you will fully alleviate their pain, the more attractive you are. However, you might just want to consider to be an Entrepreneur instead.

2) Make sure you understand the impact each job change has on your life. Some of the jobs you'll encounter will offer you a lot of hazard pay to do tough things. Know that you won't be able to do those emotionally and physically challenging jobs long-term at the expense of your precious lifestyle. Be strategic in which roles you take and why. Maybe you should be considering a job that could provide you with a passive and residual income instead.

3) Bank some serious cash. Banked a lot of cash and used it later to support yourself when you actually decide to FIRE (Financial.Independence and Retire.Early) your boss to start over in your life. While you are still in a full time job, consider a part time one that would give you the luxury of time and a passive income in the next 2-3 years.

4) Make a lot of career friends along the way. Networking with past and present colleagues gets even more important now. Don't burn any bridges. This is absoulutely one key success factor if you ever become an Entrepreneur.

5) Work for companies with a great story, brand, and reputation. When you work for companies that tell great stories about themselves and have compelling missions, you'll find they attract a better level of talent. These are the kinds of peers you want to work with now - smart, savvy professionals who you can also see yourself working with again in the future. If becoming an Entrepreneur is your choice, consider buying a franchise from a company that has clocked tremendous success stories of their growth over their years of operation, especially even during period of recessions.

6) Know when to move on. Do it while you're still top of your game. If your job satisfaction is declining, you can't let that linger just because you are making good money. Most importantly, it's how to stay happy in your career and life. A great example is Michael Peggs, who recently quit working at Google with a video. See the video here. Having a passive income will just leads to a happier lifestyle in the long term.

If you made it to the bottom of this post, here's some good news!

Not everyone has the patience or desire to figure out how to make money without burning out and most importantly how to have a passive income that would return to you also a lifestyle you would never have imagined.

That's your competitive advantage.
Don't lose momentum and stay motivated to FIRE your boss!

Keep seeking information and resources to help you.
While it's not rocket science, it's not child's play either.

The more you are open to new opportunities,
the more freedom you can achieve.

Good luck and see you at the TOP!
